We Don’t Know about you, but we are pretty obsessed with our lady makers! We’re so obsessed that we’re even hosting a bunch of bad asses who make some pretty cool stuff in our store! On January 18th for our monthly girl gang mixer, we’ll have tons of amazing artists set up to sell you their goodies. This event is perfect for finding that Galentine’s Day gift for your BFF or even a little something for you. Plus supporting other artists is just a damn cool thing to do.
One of the artist’s selling their goodies at our shop on January 18th is Mo Komperda. Mo Komperda is a Chicago based collage artist, who creates fun, flirty, and often psychedelic artwork. Her work is simple, and above all celebrate the female form.
A majority of her work involves the use of vintage, cheesecake, nude imagery. She combines those images with and other found materials, such as Life magazines or National Geographic magazines.
Her work touches on relationships, adventure, humor, and sex (well, sexual tension). Her newest series, Handy, celebrates self-play and exploration, using nature as a metaphor for the female body.
